Rules

General
Every pilot of the SN Virtual Airlines Group must respect all the rules which are noted here.

The SN Virtual Airlines Group has the right to make minor changes to these rules without notice, major changes must be notified to the current pilots.

The SN Virtual Airlines Group has the right to implement these minor changes at any time they choose. (f.e. when a staff member notices something due to an abnormal PIREP)

1. Pilot Requirements

1. The pilot must have any Flight Simulator.

2. The pilot must use his/her real identity to join the Virtual Airline.

3. The pilot must be able to show professionalism and realism.

4. The pilot may not be a staff / member of another Virtual Airline, simulating one of the Airlines simulated by the

SN Virtual Airlines Group.

5. The pilot must show respect to all our member airlines.

6. The pilot must respect all other members and the staff.

7. The pilot is required to read the rules again every month, this is to ensure he/she is aware of all minor changes that appear in the rules.

2. Transfer of Hours

1. When a pilot joins, he/she is allowed to take the hours from a previous Virtual Airline with him. This is ONLY valid upon registration.

3. We don't allow transfer of hours from IVAO or VATSIM.

3. Inactivity

1. A pilot must fly at least once every 3 months, otherwise the pilot will be removed without notice.

2. When a pilot is removed, he/she will get a ban of 3 months, after that ban he/she will be able to join again.

3. Exceptions to the "ban rule" (§3.2) can be made, when the pilot meets the following conditions: he/she must have a good motivation and be an active pilot before he/she went inactive.

4. When an exception is made, the pilot will be required to contact us personally and will have to complete his/hers first flight in the first month after he/she rejoined. Awards, logged hours will not be replaced.

4. Flights
4.1 General 

1. For each flight, the pilot is required to send in ONE PIREP - no more then one PIREP for a flight is allowed -    either with HomeFLY or the website (see also §6).

2. If a pirep has been locked, the pirep must be send to flightops within 5 days. In case the pirep has not been send the pirep will be cancelled.

3. The SN Virtual Airlines Group has the right to ask more information about a PIREP if it thinks something is wrong or just as a routine check.

4. A Pilot is not allowed to send a PIREP for a flight that he/she did not fly.

5. A flight may only be PIREPed once correctly.

6. Events can only be logged if the pilot participated to the event itself.

7. The pilot is not required to fly the flights at the time indicated in our timetable, but is encouraged to set his FS Clock to this time.

8. The pilot must check all info before starting the flight to be sure he is logging the correct way.

4.2 Offline / Online

1. All flights, can be flown online.

2. Events should be flown online, except when specified otherwise.

4.3 Aircraft

1. The pilot is not required to fly the flight with the indicated Aircraft, it is just a reflection to the real life flight but we encourage doing so..

2. If the pilot chooses an aircraft type different from the timetable he/she must adjust speed to be in range of the indicated flight time in the timetable.

3. Virtual flights, flown with y/c aircraft also need to be in range with given time in virtual timetable."°"

4. If there is an aircraft indicated in the Special Flights / Tours the pilot has been obliged to use the indicated type.

4.4 Simulation Rate

1. The maximum simulation rate is 1x.

2. Flights flown with a simulation rate higher than allowed will be cancelled.

4.5 Specific for Regular Pilots

1. The pilot is allowed to choose a system for Flight Operations (see §5).

2. The pilot will get assignments following the specifications of his/her system (see §5).

3. The pilot can select flights of his/hers preference in the "Flights" section of the site.

4. The pilot is allowed, but not required, to fly the return flight of his/her assignment. But need to set it in his/her preferences.

5. The pilot is allowed to fly Special Flights at any time.

6. The pilot is allowed to fly events and log these flights but can’t depart before the indicated departure time in the info document.

7. When flying online (IVAO or VATSIM), in NO matter Flight Operations will accept data coming from this online network. Only data recorded trough HomeFly will be accepted.

5. Flight Operation Systems
5.1 General

1. Every pilot, is allowed to choose from the following systems: Assigned, Weekly Assigned, Monthly Assigned.

2. Some flights exist of more then one leg!. Every pilot must check his/her flight information before start.

3. If the pirep is not correct the flight will be cancelled, and refly is necessary.

4. Regarding the flight time the system takes a margin for shorter/longer flight time. Once the pilot exceeded this margin the pirep will be cancelled or locked.

5. In case of appeal our decision make sure you provide us the following info : log, weather, atc instruction, etc."°"

5.2 Assignments

1. Pilots on the Assigned system will receive a new assignment when their PIREP is validated. Only then it is possible to fly a new assignment. In expectation of validation the pilot can fly other flight from the timetable.

2. Pilots on the Weekly Assigned system will receive a new assignment every Monday, and can fly other flights during the week. (see §5.3.2)

3. Pilots on the Monthly Assigned system will receive a new assignment every 1st day of the month, and can fly other flights during the month. (see §5.3.2)

4. When a pilot doesn't complete the assignment in the specified period, he/she will automaticlly be transferred to the system above ( Monthly > Weekly > Assignments).

5.3 Scheduled Flights

1. All pilots of all airliners in the SVAGroup can fly flights from the different timetables. Make sure the Department in HomeFLY is set correctly.

2. Pilots on the Weekly/Monthly Assigned system can fly Scheduled Flights all the time.

6. HomeFLY
6.1 If the pilot's flight simulator version is compatible with HomeFLY V3: 

1. The pilot is required to log his/her flights with HomeFLY V3.

2. The pilot is required to send his/her PIREP via HomeFLY V3.

3. The pilot is required to keep the log files of his/her last 50 flights.

4. When the pilot is unable to send the PIREP via HomeFLY V3 (log error,...), he/she should contact flight operations. They can decide to give an emergency code but only if the error is caused by HomeFLY. Errors caused by the system of the pilot or wrong input in HomeFLY are not qualified for emergency code.

5. Number of emergency codes that is given is monitored. The code works only once.

6.2 If the pilot's flight simulator version is not compatible with HomeFLY V3

1. The pilot is not required to log his/her flights with HomeFLY V3.

2. The pilot can send his/her PIREP via the website.

3. When HomeFLY becomes available for the pilot's flight simulator version, he/she will get a 2 weeks transfer period.

7. Spirit of SVA and Member of Honour award
7.1 What are the requirements of getting the Spirit of SVA award ?
1. The pilot has done something special for the VA (f.e. organising an online or real life event).

2. The pilot is a regular pilot. (see §1. and §3.1)

3. The pilot must never ignore other members asking for help.

7.2 The nomination process
The pilot nominated for the Spirit of SVA award will get an e-mail from the CEO or COO of our VA asking him/her if he/she accepts the award or not. (see §7.3)
7.3 Requirements of pilots who have the Spirit of SVA award
1. The pilot shall always try to help other members who have questions or need help.

2. The pilot shall be a regular participant in online or real life events. (exeptions for real life events are made if the pilot doesn't live close to where the event takes place f.e. another country)

3. When in the process of organising an event (online or real life) the staff can ask for help of that pilot in organising or coördinating that event.

4. The pilot is a regular pilot. (see §1. and §3.1)

7.4 Who gets the Member of Honour award and what are the requirements ?
1. Pilots who can keep the Spirit of SVA award for at least one straight year will get the Member of Honour award.

2. These pilots will have the same duties as the ones with the Spirit of SVA award. (see §7.3)

3. These pilots will be the first ones to be asked to become a staff member when a function is available and needs to be filled up. (On trial for 3 months)

7.5 Reasons to take away the Spirit of SVA and Member of Honour award.
1. The pilot doesn't comply anymore with the profile noted in §7.3.

2. This is not a downgrade system, pilots who loose the Member of Honour award won't go back to the status of having the Spirit of SVA award, but will loose both of them.

3. Pilots who have had their awards taken away will not be able to get them back ever.

8. Flight award and Hours award.
8.1 Flight award.
1. The Flight award can be only received once a year.
8.2 Hours award.
1. The Hours award can be only received once a year.
